Anyone can be the helper.

We help neighbors who could use a little help, and we connect people who want to help with the people looking for it. It starts with something small.

What we do

Two ways we show up

We help

Hygiene bags, gift cards, and practical support for unhoused neighbors, plus volunteers and donations for a twice-monthly community meal in Peoria. Real help, delivered with dignity.

Find a way to help

Our story

It started with gift cards on a snowy night.

One winter night in Washington, DC, David noticed people outside trying to stay warm. He walked into a McDonald's, bought gift cards, and spent the evening handing them out on the street. That turned into hygiene bags, then into years of helping however he could.

When David moved, the helping moved with him. Each new city brought new neighbors and new ways to pitch in.

Give a gift card

Every Penny Counts

Got a gift card with a little left on it?

Unused cards, or cards with just a few cents or dollars left, add up fast. We pool the leftovers and turn them into hygiene items, socks, snacks, and other essentials for neighbors who need them. It's how this all started: one gift card at a time.

  1. 1
Check the balance. Any amount helps, even a few cents.
  2. 2
Tell us about it. Fill out the form and we'll reply with how to send it.
  3. 3
We put it to work. We combine small balances at the same store to buy supplies.

Store gift cards (like Target, Walmart, Walgreens, or restaurants) are easiest to use. Please don't type card numbers or PINs into this form; we'll send you a safe way to share them.
